this is about some of the stuff that i think about a lot. the body is so limited, nothing more than a pile of organized cells, functioning because of chemical reactions, driven by the senseless goal of keeping itself alive and reproducing. the mind is just a product of that body, it's tied to those unreliable senses (maybe other people don't go into an existencial crisis because of some optical illusions.. i tend to do sometimes). when trying to grasp concepts of space and time and all the freaky stuff, this weak little arsenal of cells is all we can rely on. it's our reality, sure.. but it seems so insignificant. just look at that little mind, trying to figure out the concept of the self, like a dog chasing its tail.. and just as pathetic.
of course this picture isn't quite as detailed as those thoughts that i tried to outline.. i threw in some more or less generic organic textures.. and the tapir is obviously the seemingly pure little mind, trying to escape the organic world that it depends on.
filed under "macabre and horror" because those are really horrifying thoughts for me.

Hm.. block it out, think about everyday stuff (I worry about all the uni work anyway, about little problems, ethics etc).. sleep :3 These thoughts don't come up extremely often so it's kind of ok. But I'm generally not an awfully happy person.

Yeah. I think that happens with a lot of people. I don't feel having those thoughts is always a bad thing though. I think having some of those doubts are not only healthy but ultimately good for you. Thats what I hope at least.

I've thought about if it would be better to not think about certain stuff but that's very hard to tell. You can never know what another person's strange thoughts are and if they're really as happy as they seem So you're left with superficial judging and that's hardly a good base to start from. "Ignorane is bliss" is easily said but it's very hard to see if it's true.
So yes, I hope that doubts have a good side and I kind of hope that everybody has some deep doubts about themselves and life.. but not sure why..

I consider myself somewhat of a pessimistic idealist. So maybe its the idealist in me that has me wanting to say that the reason those doubts are good to have is that beyond those doubts is a very real hope. And only through doubting can we fully encounter that. But thats just me. I more take that as an axiom though. Because if the two choices are "despair" or "ignorance" I'll take the third option.

We have all kinds of cells to do different jobs and the brain tells them what to do. But I guess we're still trapped by the laws of physics.
