some lowland tapirs in what i probably think a jungle in south america looks like (bamboo?!, trees, grass, vines, mud for tapirs to sleep in). i'm not used to drawing backgrounds, or plants, anyway.
ballpoint and pencil. took 2 lectures to finish.

Where did you get the references for the tapirs? they look really good!
The forest is amazing. We have bamboo here too.. I think bamboo grows anywhere, actually!

i didn't use refs. if you compare it to real tapirs, you'll find errors/stylizations. actually, i rarely use any refs at all (maybe i should).
thanks for your nice words :)

I like that way. Maybe if you start to use refs, your drawings will loose their originality!
I tought that tapirs only existed in south america. Here in Brazil we call them "anta".
They're cute :)

That background is insanely amazing. You draw trees so well and effortlessly! I love the vines and the little bamboo. It's all so fitting (: And the subjects themselves are beautifully drawn, i especially love the bigger one's snout. Veryy beautiful picture

This is great. You use values real well, it emphasizes certain parts of the picture and my attention just goes to them. The background's nice too.
I bet your professor loves your attentiveness.
