It's a kinda lame and polemic drawing about.. not liking factory farms and what people do to animals. The milk mixes with the blood and Alice really doesn't know what to do about it. The stuff that's written on the cow was put there by someone else of course, as cows can't write and would probably not encourage us to consume cow products even if they could. Other people do encourage us, however, as you can see in any supermarket with the long long shelves of colourful refrigerated milk products.. and the even bigger meat section, a sea of red and pink. I also drew a little fast food restaurant, equally depressing for me. Well, everybody buys that stuff, and it's on TV, so it can't be wrong, can it. But the great majority of those products come from factory farm animals who have a crappy life and I really don't think it's a good idea to buy those products. I can't really do much about other people's choices anyway.

Drawn on crappy red paper with no ref, like always.

Aww... I'm so sorry, you poor cow.

I pray that the countless number of cows, pigs, and chickens that have lived and died so horribly in the factory farms may rest in peace... :please:

How very, very real. Seriously.

I think it's incredible of you to face this issue through art because it's something people are afraid to face. That's why factory farming is such a huge problem in developed countries, and ESPECIALLY in the US. The fact that you drew this cow as a whole, the blood mixing with the milk in a way Alice is surprised to find the bluntness in, is perfect.

The amount of cruelty our society (as well as our legislation) tolerates towards animals is one of the things I struggle most with in life. I've been a vegetarian since third grade, but it was only a year ago that I actually went vegan. I was in denial for quite a long time, with so many messages thrown at me through media, lifelong conditioning, my peers...I was so selfish and afraid to actually take the next step. I reached a point where I couldn't live with myself and how selfish my choices had become despite claiming a "cruelty-free" lifestyle through vegetarianism, so I finally worked toward my goal, and I can honestly say not too many choices I've made have been that satisfying.

There's still no happy ending in realizing the mass-suffering of sentient beings, the hypocrisy of a history that repeats itself over and over, but I commend you for doing what you can and expressing yourself in a way that no one can take away from us- art. :) It makes me feel a little less alone to feel the genuine emotion and pain you put into this, knowing that there's someone else in the world who doesn't think this is okay.

Thank you for your work, and god bless.

Oh God I love this. It's powerful and clearly brings the message, especially with that glowing red color everywhere. It's alarming. I also like that you wrote that text on the cow and her udder, you just know it wasn't ger writing this. I also like what you did with her face, it's like you see all the factory farm torture in it. Or at least... a little part from it. :c

I mean I have nothing against meat and stuff but I think every animal deserves a good life before their death. Factory farms made me cry as a kid already, especially seeing the thousands of chickens and pigs that started to eat themself in their tight cages that drove them insane and made them sick.

Yes. It's so cynical that we have animal welfare laws that would technically outlaw those farms but there's all kinds of exceptions so all the common cruel stuff is actually legal. Also nobody checks if they obey the law anyway. I hope that some day the people will boycott and protest enough to make this history.

true that.
but that's just the lovelyness of it that you portray it as bluntly.

Even if an animal is born and raised to become a burger at McDonald's, it should not live a terrible life style. They need to be fed the right food, and killed in a non-painful way.

Love the message, such a powerful drawing. Fabulous.

Thank you!
Yep, but it would be really difficult to raise so many animals in ok conditions to provide enough meat for the McD people. I'd say it's impossible to do with the current level of meat consumption. Also meat would become much more expensive, which I think would be a good thing.
